the gatehouse

UPDATED CONCEPT : WE ARE ALL GATEHOUSES

Everyone encounters life's chaos and storms.

We can easily get stuck.

But are we powerless and alone as circumstances may dictate?

Ultimately, we need structure and the support of others to help us not get lost along the way.

Gatehouse provides a pathway towards change.

As clients grow and progress through Gatehouse, they become a shining light, a Gatehouse for others to see.

PALINDROME TO INTEGRATE

I am hopeless

You can no longer convince me that

I deserve a brighter future

I have been stuck but now I know

Without a hand up

I have no future

Fear, loneliness and shame

Replaced. My sense of purpose

Without the belief that I can change

I can’t move forward

So I am ready to accept

My life isn’t what I dreamed of

UPDATED APPROACH

Similar to the Horatio Alger examples, we will film interviews of two real women's success stories (Shentia and Rachel) intermixed with portrait-style shots that showcase slice-of-life glimpses into their respective worlds.

WE WILL RECORD AND INTERCUT VOICEOVERS WITH EACH OF THE WOMEN READING THE PALINDROME.

We will film interviews for Shentia, Rachel, and Lisa in a warm house setting that incorporates elevated production design. For each story, we'll focus on how each woman overcame her unique circumstances through Gatehouse's guidance and ultimately paid these things forward to others.

For glimpses into Shentia's story, we will film portrait shots of her in and around a school to highlight her career pathway toward education. As she's currently a substitute teacher, we'll see her in an after-school classroom setting interacting with a few students.

For glimpses into Rachel's story, we will film portrait shots of her in and around a hospital room setting to showcase her nursing career pathway. We'll see her taking care of a patient and coaching a client over hot tea on a hospital floor.

For INTEGRATION WITH THE PALINDROME SHOWING THE “BEFORE” OR “STUCKNESS” PREVIOUS TO GATEHOUSE, WE’LL SEE GLIMPSES OF EACH WOMAN PACKING MOVING BOXES FROM A TEMPORARY STORAGE UNIT AND LOADING IT INTO TO THEIR CAR. THESE VISUALS WILL DEMONSTRATE THE STRESS OF INSTABILITY AND UNCERTAINTY BEFORE ENTERING GATEHOUSE.
